The Vignette Effect

You Don't Need Every Marketing Channel. You Do Need Marketing

Episode Summary

Do you really need an email list? Can you build a business without social media? Is a blog necessary for SEO? What about running ads instead? These are some of the most common questions I hear from founders, and they all point to a bigger question: How do you decide which marketing channels are actually worth your time? In this episode, I explain why there isn't one universal marketing checklist for every business. You don't have to blog, post on Instagram every day, or send weekly emails simply because someone told you to. But you do need a marketing strategy that consistently helps people discover, trust, and buy from your business. Using a recent coaching conversation as an example, I walk through how to think about email marketing, Instagram, SEO, and paid ads as parts of a connected marketing ecosystem rather than isolated tactics. We also talk about choosing marketing channels based on your goals, your audience, and your capacity, and why paid advertising is most effective when it's supporting a system that's already working. If you've been wondering which marketing channels you actually need, or feeling resistance to one part of your marketing, this episode will help you make those decisions with more clarity and confidence.

Episode Notes

Should you have an email list? Is social media still worth it? Do you really need a blog for SEO? What about Instagram ads?

These are some of the most common marketing questions I hear from founders, and the answer is probably different than you think.

In this episode of The Vignette Effect, I explain why no single marketing channel is required, but marketing your business absolutely is. Rather than asking whether you "have to" use Instagram, email marketing, blogging, or paid ads, the better question is how those channels work together to help people discover, trust, and eventually buy from you.

Using a real coaching conversation as an example, I break down why email marketing and Instagram ads aren't competing strategies, why paid advertising works best when it's supporting an existing marketing system, and how to choose marketing activities that fit both your business goals and your actual capacity.

Whether you're a service provider, creative entrepreneur, or founder trying to simplify your marketing strategy, this episode will help you think beyond individual tactics and build a sustainable marketing plan.
